Monthly Giveaway Official Rules

1. No Purchase Necessary

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase, including a Premium subscription, does not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

2. Sponsor

The Smart Barter Monthly Giveaway (the "Giveaway") is sponsored by Smart Barter ("Sponsor"). Questions about the Giveaway can be sent through our support page.

3. Eligibility

The Giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in their state of residence, if higher) at the time of entry and who have an active Smart Barter account in good standing.

Employees and contractors of Sponsor, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, children) or households, are not eligible. Accounts with an administrator role and accounts Sponsor designates as test accounts cannot win.

4. Giveaway Periods

The Giveaway runs in monthly periods. Each period begins on the 25th day of a month at 12:00:00 PM Mountain Time and ends on the 25th day of the following month at 11:59:59 AM Mountain Time. A period is named for the month in which it ends: for example, the "October 2026" period runs from September 25, 2026 at 12:00 PM MT to October 25, 2026 at 11:59:59 AM MT. The first period is the October 2026 period. Sponsor's servers are the official timekeeping device for the Giveaway.

5. How to Enter

Referral method. Every Smart Barter user has a personal referral code and invite link in the app. When a new user signs up for Smart Barter using your code or link and then completes their profile by adding a display name and location, you receive one (1) entry and the new user receives one (1) entry. The entries count in the period in which the new user completes their profile. Referral codes can only be applied when an account is first created.

Free method of entry. You can also receive one (1) entry per period without referring anyone. Submit a request through our support page with the subject "Giveaway free entry" and include your name, the email address on your Smart Barter account, and your Smart Barter display name. Requests must be received before the period ends. Limit one free-method entry per person per period. Free-method entries have the same chance of winning as referral entries.

6. Entry Conditions

There is no limit on the number of friends you can refer, and each qualifying referral earns entries as described above. Entries do not carry over from one period to the next. An entry is void if the account holding it, or the referred account that produced it, is deactivated or deleted before the period ends. Each person may use only one Smart Barter account; entries earned through multiple, fake, or duplicate accounts, or any automated means, are void.

7. Drawing and Odds

After each period ends, Sponsor will select one (1) potential winner in a random drawing from all eligible entries received during that period. The drawing is weighted by number of entries, so each eligible entry has an equal chance of being selected. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the period. Sponsor will announce the potential winner by 8:00 PM Mountain Time on the 25th, or as soon as practical after that.

8. Prizes

One (1) prize is awarded per period. The prize for each period and its approximate retail value ("ARV") are shown on the Giveaway page and in the app before the period ends. No single prize will have an ARV greater than $5,000. Prizes are non-transferable, and no cash or other substitution is allowed except at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. If a period ends with no eligible entries, no prize is awarded for that period.

9. Winner Notification and Claiming

The potential winner will be notified in the Smart Barter app and may also be contacted at the email address on their account. To claim the prize, the potential winner must complete the claim form in the app within seven (7) days of notification, confirming their eligibility and providing the details needed to deliver the prize. For prizes with an ARV of $600 or more, the winner must also provide a completed IRS Form W-9 when requested by Sponsor by email.

If the potential winner does not claim the prize within seven (7) days, is found to be ineligible, or does not comply with these Official Rules, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries for that period.

10. Taxes

Winners are responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on their prize. Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 where required by law.

11. Publicity and Privacy

With the winner's consent, given on the claim form, Sponsor may publish the winner's first name, last initial, and city on the Giveaway page and in the app. Winners who do not consent will be shown as "Winner notified." Information collected for the Giveaway is used to administer it and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Disqualification

Sponsor may disqualify any person or entry that Sponsor reasonably believes has tampered with the entry process, used fake or duplicate accounts, used automated means, violated the Smart Barter Terms of Service, or otherwise acted in an unfair or disruptive manner. Sponsor's decisions on all matters relating to the Giveaway are final.

13. Changes and Cancellation

Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel the Giveaway, or any period of it, if fraud, technical problems, or other causes beyond Sponsor's control affect its administration, security, or fairness. Changes to these Official Rules take effect for periods that begin after the change is posted, and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised.

14. Release and Limitation of Liability

By entering, participants agree to release Sponsor from any liability arising from participation in the Giveaway or the acceptance or use of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries or notifications, or for technical failures of any kind.

15. Governing Law

These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado without regard to conflict of law provisions.

16. Apple and Google

Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, the Giveaway in any way. Apple and the Apple logo are trademarks of Apple Inc. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC.
